Half of my melancholic rage from last post was probably the cold medicine I took, but I think I'm inspired enough to do a little something for myself. I'm taking care of my debts in an ordered fashion and keeping up with my plan, so I'm happy at least that is a positive trend. In the mean time, instead of paying a larger chunk to debt like I was planning, I'm going to buy a guitar, a mic, and a 4 track recorder today. I haven't had much creative going on in this head, but now if I do, at least I can explore it. I promise that the first new song I write (that I count as a finished real song) will be posted on this site. I'd give it at least a couple months, but I'm not putting any time limit on it. I have no clue what I would write about these days, but just the sound of a new song would be enough for me.

Ah, cool. Digital recordings?
First thing ya gotta do...another rendition of the "Boulevard" ditty...
I liked hearing that.....it reminded me of "A-town"
Silly Ben: Several points for you to ponder--
1) It's never too early for a midlife, or any other, crisis.
2) What made you think a career was going to "fall in [your] lap"?
3) Anyone who thinks he might be spoiled really isn't because self-awareness ruins the illusion.
4) Nobody I know is ever completely happy with his job or career. It's utterly and completely normal to feel confused, hopeless--and to entertain doubts about the good you think you're doing in the job.
5) But you do it anyway because what else is there for you to do in the world, before you die, other than to make a mark that ultimately determines if your life had meaning to you or anyone else?
6) But your job isn't everything. If you don't have fun, and a lot of it, why fucking bother with the rest of it?
and LAST POINT:
7) You should send your loving and thoughtful Uncle Simmy some Morrowind pointers instead of holding out on him.
Signed, a Stranger
I dunno---I heard plenty of creative things come from Ben: Guitar work, melodies, some exotic indian flute playing.....
Ben, you are a creative guy----tear down the walls and embrace the things that are chaotic----out of every 10 things you do, 9 might be crap, but you get THE ONE....and it makes it so worth it.
Ever listen to any of the stuff the Beatles wrote that never made a legitimate release? Its crap!!!
Just trying to make an anonymous point..
Anonymously creepy....
