interesting article. i heard a scientist on npr claim that a cat 5 in N.O. would be unlikely as the water off the coast is usually too cold, thus the storm would lose it's power. after coming off of cuba, the storm started losing power because of this effect. this particular metorologist prodicted that by the time it reached land it would drop to a cat 3 or low 4.
i recall some good times with ben, wading through chin high water down napoleon street. floods bad, but it's amazing how quickly the water receeds. seems i read about some crazy pumping system. n.o. is, what, about 6 feet below sea level and dropping? 8 feet?
But Alaska has those out of control glaciers that are notorious for crashing into villages & towns devouring all inhabitants & structures. Glaciers are no good my friend, indeed - I would be afraid of the land bridge reappearing at the Bering Straight that would provide all the Commies easy access to our young impressionable children.

not to mention eskimos, bears, and that chronic northern halitosis! - jib
I would suggest North Dakota - but every April they are plagued by zombie Prarie Dogs.
on the news this morning they said two shocking things:
1) a cat 5 would put n.o. under 14 feet of water.
2) they ordered 10,000 body bags, just in case.
wow.
