After reading the book Dark Life last year, I would find it extremely unlikely that we would not find life on Mars in the form of nano-bacteria.

I fully concur. More evidence for water on Mars keeps coming from the Mars rovers, and more evidence for nanobacteria keeps coming in from various researchers around the world.
By the way, nice taste in tunes.
