Sleep has not been good to me lately. Most of the time, I require at least 7 hours a night to be normal, but I've been going the last 3 and 1/2 weeks with only about 3-4 hours a night. Not on purpose, but just because I can't seem to sleep. I can't figure out what it is that keeps me from sleeping. Here is my list of suspects:(any or all of these may be to blame.)

1. Too much caffeine during the day.
2. Eating too close to when I go to bed.
3. Thinking about various women that I would like to know better.
4. Worried that I won't go to sleep.
5. My stomach stays upset all week from the week-end's drinking.
6. Worried about life direction.
7. My body is just use to 3-4 hours of sleep now.
8. Smoking too close to bedtime.
9. There is something wrong with my brain.
10.I am sleeping. I'm just dreaming that I lie in my bed and stare at the ceiling.

Honorable Mention: All these damn prison reports I have to read everyday.

not sleeping seems to be an epidemic. i'm having the same problem, and know several other pople that are too. and if i'm not sleeping.... - jib

I used to be able to sleep easily...naps in the afternoon, bed by 10, 12 at the latest. 3 1/2 years ago my sleep habits got totally screwed up - no more naps, if I went to bed at 10 I'd be up 2 hours later - too many thoughts running through my head. The one time I took Tylenol PM I ended up fighting off its urges to put me to sleep.....This past semester I won't even get into - I was lucky if I got 2 hours of good sleep. Sometimes the old fashioned warm milk helps. Other times I just get up and start working, and that usually helps - puts me write to sleep.....Maybe its age. But, let's just blame it all on Bush - why not?

I am now averaging about 6-7 hours a night. Everything is back to normal. Thanks everyone for all the advise.
